Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

KCFD1 is the primary responder to 911 medical emergencies in the Trout Lake fire district.

Our all-volunteer department includes several members certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). While KCFD1 members are the first to arrive on scene and provide care, Klickitat County EMS is also immediately dispatched (typically traveling from White Salmon) and usually arrives approximately 30 minutes later with a second ambulance and paramedic.

Patients are typically transported to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon or Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital.

In life-threatening situations, KCFD1 and Klickitat County EMS may also request helicopter medical transport through Life Flight. We encourage residents to acquire Life Flight insurance to cover costs of air transport in severe emergencies.
